Most people don’t even know they have a problem with bedbugs. Most mattress pads only covers the top like a finish sheet. That’s why this is really good, especially if you get a new mattress to buy in encasement which covers the whole mattress and you close it with a zipper closure.
This was the best thing I ever did since we had a problem with bedbugs.
Thank you for your excellent review! We appreciate your support! It's very important to encase the whole mattress to prevent bed bugs and keep your mattress clean for the warranty.
The pillows are well constructed and are very comfortable.
Thank you, Katherine, for your honest review! For people that like firm support, because everybody's sleeping comfort is different, you can always purchase a 1 lb bag of wool. These pillows are adjustable, which is amazing! Here's a link to our sleep blog for great sleep tips and extra discounts - https://downunderbedding.com/blogs/news
Perfect amount of support for me. Warms up really quickly once you lay your head on it but never overheats.
Hey Aaron,
Thanks for a awesome review. – here’s a couple of pro hacks:
– Use two pillow protectors so your pillow doesn’t have to suffer through all the nighttime sweating and drooling.
– If you ever want more firmness, you can grab extra 1 lb bags of wool from our site and top it up like a “build‑your‑own‑pillow” kit.

My room temp is typically in the range of 60°F/16°C and this is keeping me warm. Finally, no more wearing socks to bed and/or having to use flannel sheets/duvet cover which you end up 'sticking' to! This is a very nice duvet but keep in mind that the oversize draping effect is only if you have an oversized queen duvet cover (no way I use my duvets without covers). Even using my regular queen duvet covers, I'm happy with this purchase. Expensive... but I, and it, are worth it!
Understood. Here’s a clean version without any Shopify links or references:
Love this review. Thanks so much for taking the time to share it, and for giving our “famous” goose down duvet a good home in your 60°F/16°C bedroom.
Totally agree with you on the “no more socks to bed” life upgrade, and the end of flannel-sheet “Velcro mode” is a win worth celebrating. You’re right about the oversize drape: you’ll get that hotel‑style puddle only with an oversized queen cover, but it sounds like your regular queen cover is still doing the job nicely.
And you absolutely *are* worth it.
Thanks again for trusting Down Under Bedding with your sleep and for putting our goose down duvet to work on those chilly nights.
Have been using mine for years. Incredibly warm for how thin and lightweight it is, material of outer shell is so soft and comfortable. Super breathable and temperature regulating. I use it year-round. Great for hot sleepers.
Even though you aren’t supposed to for best results, I have machine washed this many times. It held up quite well with the lining only bunching up slightly over time. I don’t recommend washing in a machine with an agitator, as the last time I did it sadly caused the silk to bunch quite badly. Best to wash on gentle cycle with a front loader. Great investment, quality product affordable luxury.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with our silk duvet. It means a lot to a small Canadian brand like Down Under Bedding, and feedback like yours helps other customers choose the right sleep solution.
